Election boycott, declaration of protest
Kathmandu, Frebuary 19. The Central Joint Struggle Committee comprising four parties has announced to boycott the elections and hold a protest.
On Thursday, the meeting of the Central Joint Struggle Committee affiliated to the Revolutionary Communist Party Nepal, the Communist Party of Nepal (Majority), the Scientific Socialist Communist Party Nepal and the Communist Party of Nepal has decided on the protest program.
In a statement issued by the committee, it has been decided to distribute pamphlets, conduct door-to-door and corner meetings in villages, toles and wards in favor of boycotting the upcoming parliamentary elections from Falgun 8 to 12, and to organize boycott meetings in cities including Itahari, Janakpur, Chitwan, Kathmandu, Butwal, Dang, Bardiya, Dhangadhi and others between Falgun 13 and 18, depending on local convenience.
In a statement issued after the meeting today, it is mentioned that the meeting protested the arrest of Dharmendra Bastola and Rishi Kattel by the Sushila Karki-led puppet government and demanded their immediate release.
