What are the challenges of art journalism?
Kathmandu, November 24. A program on the 'Condition and Challenges of Art Journalism' was completed at the institution on Wednesday under the auspices of the Nepal Fine Arts Foundation.
In the program, the chancellor of the foundation, Naradamani Hartamchali, said that the role of art journalism will be important to enable and strengthen art activities locally. He was of the opinion that the institution is working according to its capacity in the fields of art discovery, research, honors and awards. Hartmchali mentioned that since art plays an important role in social and cultural transformation, it is the responsibility of art journalists to communicate about it and also investigate the problems in this area.
Devendra Kumar Kafle 'Thumkeli', member secretary of the Foundation, said that fine art is a subject connected with culture and civilization and that it is necessary to spread its dimension to the people and the world today, so this program was organized.
Narayan Dhungana discussed the beginning, past and present practice of art journalism and discussed its situation, challenges and the work to be done in its development and promotion. He also emphasized that all sectors and concerned bodies should be involved in promoting art activities in the society.
Journalist Sushila Tamang said that the state of art journalism, the place given to art bit by journalism in the post-Covid-19 period, the contribution of women journalists in this field and the need for initiative from the state at the policy level to enable and strengthen fine art journalism in a systematic manner.
